A poem by David Harkins:
You can shed tears that she is gone,
Or you can smile because she lived,
You can close your eyes and pray that she will come back,
Or you can open your eyes and see all that she has left.
Your heart can be empty because you can’t see her
Or you can be full of the love that you shared,
You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday,
Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday.
You can remember her and only that she is gone
Or you can cherish her memory and let it live on,
You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back,
Or you can do what she would want: smile, open your eyes,
love and go on.

The Importance of a Sister
By Shiva Sharma
A sister is someone who loves you from the heart,
No matter how much you argue you cannot be drawn apart.
She is a joy that cannot be taken away,
Once she enters your life, she is there to stay.
A friend who helps you through difficult times,
Her comforting words are worth much more than dimes.
A partner who fills your life with laughs and smile,
These memories last for miles and miles.
When she is by your side, the world is filled with life,
When she is not around, your days are full of strife.
A sister is a blessing, who fills your heart with love,
She flies with you in life with the beauty of a dove.
A companion to whom you can express your feelings,
She doesn’t let you get bored at family dealings.
Whether you are having your ups or downs,
She always helps you with a smile and never frowns.
With a sister you cannot have a grudge,
She is as sweet as chocolate and as smooth as fudge.
Having a sister is not just a trend,
It is knowing you can always turn to her, your best friend.
Miss you Julie and love you always. Rest in peace now, be with Jason, Mum, Dad, Arnie, Grandad and Nannas, Kevin, Lyn and fly free.

Beautiful lady with a heart of gold. Missing you already m.
To Karen Wendy and Family, we were very sorry to hear of the passing of your sister/auntie and my dear friend Julie. Our thoughts are with you all at this sad time. I will miss our visits, chats and laughs and cherish the memories of the times we shared. Julie showed great courage in adapting to her illness and challenges along the way. Tied and weary she made no fuss. She tried so hard to stay with us. God sent his angels and said, “it’s time to go”. May the memories you have help comfort you. Julie will be sadly missed and is now resting peacefully. Reunited with her son Jason and her Mum and Dad. With Deepest Sympathy Love From Sandra, Peter and Family.
Julie, my Big Oldest Sister, Oh my heart aches as you leave this earthly plane. I have so many fond memories, especially those back when we were both young. You drew me under your wing, taught me the beauty and happiness of many an old song from folk, to rock, to blues. I will always be indebted to that. I can hear ‘Neil Young; Harvest Moon now as I write. We had many good times with your old ‘hippie’ friends. Your love for Jason was a highlight in your life, and the loss weigh heavy on your heart. You had a charismatic personality and like mum, loved a chat. Well your reunited now and with Jason, and Dad, and others long gone. Be at Peace, and know you are always in my heart forever. Love also from Cassie,Matilda, Oliver and Taj…. Love you Julie, fly free!!
