Step 1:

When you need us, we’re here to chat with you.

Part of our conversation will be asking you a few questions so that we can begin caring for your loved one. You will discover the easiest steps through the whole process. We’ll need to know:

  • The full name of the person who has passed away
  • The location of the death
  • Whether your loved one was under the care of a doctor or is being assessed by the Coroner.
  • Name of the next of kin responsible for the funeral
  • Relationship of the next of kin
  • Whether your loved one is ready to be transferred into our care
  • Date of birth and death of your loved one
  • Whether you, as a family, have decided if the funeral will involve burial or cremation
  • Has a pre-paid or pre-arranged funeral been taken out?
  • We can arrange our team to bring your loved one into our care straight away (when urgent from a nursing home or private residence). We may also set up a time to meet with you, to discuss all the finer details of your loved one’s funeral arrangements.

Step 2:

You can expect a call back to confirm details of our arrangement meeting

Often our first contact with you is during the middle of the night.

You are normally concerned at this stage with having us come pick up your loved one. If this is where you find yourself, be assured this will be promptly arranged. You can then expect a call at some stage later in the morning – usually sometime around 9am.

You may also be asked for your email address. We can then send you information you need to know during the arrangement process.

Preparing for our arrangement meeting

As a family, this is the time to review your funeral options.

You can tailor with us a meaningful funeral to honour and celebrate your loved one’s life. You may receive an email from us to help prompt information you’ll need to know when we come out to meet with you. You won’t be rushed through the arrangement process with us. And you have choice as to when we come out to meet you and your family.
