Altona Memorial Park

Altona Memorial Park Chapel in Melbourne’s Western Suburbs, offers a chapel for funerals within the floral lawn cemetery and extensive memorial gardens.

The well appointed Chapel of Repose seats 80 people with standing room also available. With catering and function areas both within the cemetery and also in the immediate vicinity, Altona Memorial Park features two modern chapels for the hosting of funeral and memorial services.

Following a funeral service or following a burial service, families can choose to relax and reminisce with family and friends over a cup of tea and light refreshments in the adjacent room to the chapels entrance foyer This area can hold up to 150 peodple for wakes or sympathy teas.

Bunurong Memorial Park

Cremation And Burial Services – 790 Frankston-Dandenong Road, Dandenong South

Welcome to the beautiful funeral venue of Bunurong Memorial Park. Choose between 4 special and modern Reflection Spaces. Bunurong Memorial Park Funerals allow for a Service in either the Cirrus, Cumulus, Stratus, or Sanctuary Reflection Space. Celebrate a loved one’s life in a comfortable, and most of all peaceful, setting. Bunurong Memorial Park can accommodate a variety of Community events. From either funerals and memorial services, to school concerts or weddings. Furthermore, beautiful, highly landscaped gardens surround all of the Reflection Spaces. Therefore, Bunurong has created a “country” atmosphere, in Dandenong South.

Cloud formations inspired the names of the 3 main Reflection Spaces. Furthermore, quiet reflective pools, and native gardens surround each Chapel. Seat 230 guests in the Stratus, and 120 in the Cumulus. These rooms can be combined, consequently seating 350 people, with extra standing room for an even larger crowd. The Cirrus Reflection Space seats 90 for a more intimate space, yet still has floor to ceiling windows, and water features. In addition, all of the Reflection Spaces feature state of the art audio visual equipment. The Sanctuary Reflection Space offers uninterrupted water views. It is partially built over the edge of Lake Australis. The glass wall provides a close connection to the outside environment while the Service is being conducted inside. The Sanctuary seats 80 guests. It’s a fully equiped Space in it’s own right.

Bunurong Memorial Park, Reflection Spaces

The Reflection Spaces are stunning, and the 5 function lounges available for on site catering, are equally so. Each Function Room comfortably seats 40 guests, or 60 standing guests. We can seamlessly combine rooms to cater for larger gatherings. Cafe Vita et flores oversees in-house catering. The Cafe is a unique cafe/florist concept. The Cafe is open 7 days a week and offers delicious coffee as well as fresh flowers. A selection of multi cultural menus cater to a range of tastes. The Beckett, McCubbin, Streeton, Noland or Storrier Rooms all provide quality catering and excellent, attentive staff for your funeral function.

The distinctive native landscape/theme is obvious when you enter Bunurong Memorial Park, and the new Southern Aurora Centre. The Cemetery has a number of soothing water features, therefore you can enjoy the natural surroundings at any time. In addition, you can have a Greek Orthodox service in the Resurrection of Saint Lazarus Greek Orthodox Church, located near the banks of Lake Australis, behind the main Reflection Spaces.

Fawkner Memorial Park

1187 Sydney Road, Fawkner

Families have been coming to Fawkner Memorial Park funerals, for over 100 years. The first burial took place at this cemetery way back in 1906. Since those days it’s grown in leaps and bounds. There are a vast array of memorial options – both for the interment of cremated remains, and also for traditional burial.

Fawkner Memorial Park has three Chapels which are all non denominational. Many people choose to hold a Cremation, Burial, or Memorial service here. Use these Chapels no matter what you religion or culture. Farewell a loved one with family and friends. The Crick Chapel seats 70 guests, the Cordell Chapel seats 140, while the Joyce Chapel seats 140. Fawkner’s lovely, native vegetation, surrounds all 3 chapels. Inside the Chapels modern layouts provide much needed peace, while offering the benefits of modern technology. All 3 chapels at Fawkner Memorial Park have plasma screens to play DVD memorials. The screens can also focus on who is speaking at the lectern.

Other Options
There is another chapel in the Holy Angels Mausoleum in the cemetery, which is also beautiful. As such, the Chapel of the Archangel Gabriel is a good option if burial is to take place in the Mausoleum. It is also good if the family wants something a little different, or more private. The Mausoleum itself certainly has an aura of class, with walkways, staircases, and charming stained glass windows.

Tea rooms are available both in the main cemetery grounds, and also across the road in the Northern Memorial Park. Therefore, you have choices when it comes to relaxing with family and friends after the funeral. Chateau Wyuna is a charming, white weatherboard, heritage listed chapel nestled in the foothills of the majestic Dandenong Ranges. Transported from country New South Wales in 1985, the Chapel building itself at Chateu Wyuna is over 100 years old. It features an original stained glass window, as well as the original church bells. There is traditional pew seating for 80 guests inside the Chapel. Moving to the garden and we can arrange a service at the Waterfall.
