  1. DJ – A best mate rather than a Brother. The games of golf, trips away, dinners and just catch ups for drinks will be sadly missed. At least the suffering has ended.

  19. David, I am going to miss your cheeky smile!

I remember Shani and I counting down the days we got to go to your house for the weekend. Friday nights going through the drive through McDonalds where you would pretend to order Chinese to confuse the cashier and then we would watch a movie when we got home. In the morning we would wake up to the smell of bacon and eggs and of course Big M’s! Saturday nights we would spend at the Knox club where we would run a muck. We had so much fun with you.

As time went on Shani looked after you and she was always by your side. It broke my heart to see your quality of life fading away, especially during COVID as some of your last moments were stolen away. I will forever remember your big warm smile as you walked Shani down the isle. What a special memory that have made an imprint in our hearts.

Thank you for giving me my best friend, I am forever grateful for the qualities you have instilled in her. She is strong and a fighter just like you and I promise Nic and I will look after her and will always be there.

Rest in Peace. We will miss you xx

  20. DJ, as you and Gary were the oldest cousins and I was the youngest we never really spent much time together but that doesn’t mean you didn’t leave a lasting impression on me.
I think the last time I was ever at Lee St I was probably 8 yo (50 years ago).
My memories of you then were you in your army uniform, and the other one was of a skateboard we would ride down your driveway made from a plank of timber with what I can only imagine was one of Linda’s roller skates dismantled.
But mostly the uniform, I was so proud of my cousin the soldier. Proud to call you Cousin.🇦🇺. Rest In Peace.
    David C Cole

  21. Remembering Dave our Army mate from way back. Sadly after many years of keeping in touch we eventually lost contact. Dave we’ve been looking for you again recently, and now it seems we’ve found you at last, only to have to say goodbye. We’ve never forgotten you mate. Our condolences to your family.
