Gino Anthony Savio

02/07/1956 ~ 30/07/2020

It’s with the heaviest of hearts that we note the passing of our amazing dad and husband Gino Anthony Savio, who died at 64, on Thursday July 30th , 2020.

Cancer is a horrible beast. We watched as he slowly unravelled before our eyes, until the suffering was too great and he passed peacefully into the morning. Our (super) dry, annoyingly proud, brilliant and silent Dad will be gone, but we won’t forget the way he cared for us and carried us through the years. Dad, the tower of strength. The perfectionist who could fix anything. The only one who could answer the history questions in trivia. The one who could always make the perfect wry comment. The one who went out of his way to make sure everyone was ok. We will be lost without him.

He is survived by his wife Franca, his daughters Danielle and Rachel, his sons-in-law Kyle and Daniel, his grand-daughter Ella, his siblings Roy, John, Robert and Rosemary and his in-laws Benita, Giuliano and Sharon.

He joins his parents Mario and Clara, his father-in-law Antonio and his brother-in-law Pierangelo on the other side. Forever in our hearts and in our minds. We know Chicago is playing at full volume wherever you are.

We love you to the moon and back. Franca, Danielle and Rachel.

  30. To the one & only Prince of Darkness, from when we first met in 1987, to when I saw you last, just a couple of months ago, you made me work hard to get a cheeky grin out of you. But I soon discovered you were nothing but a marshmallow with a heart of pure gold, under that tough exterior
When I first started with Dolso as a green 16 year old you put me on sweeping duties for 2 months straight until you decided I was worthy of sharing your knowledge with. You taught me everything about being on the building site & I thank you for sharing that wisdom, because I wouldn’t be where I am today without it. It was an honour to do our last job together at Collins Arch last year.
It made me so incredibly sad to see what you & your girls had to endure during your illness. You will be missed by so many & forgotten by none.

Franca, Rachel & Danielle, we cannot imagine your grief at this tragic & senseless loss. You are in our thoughts & prayers.
With love Marco, Toni, Alexandra & Angelique Peroni💕💕
